72 die of Gastro, snake bite, drowning
NASIRABAD Aug 28 (PPI): A total of 72 persons were killed owing to different diseases, Gastro, snake bite and drowning in Jaffarabad and Nasirabad districts. Most of the victims are women and children.
According to a survey 72 deaths have been reported in flood hit areas of Districts of Jaffarabad and Nasirabad. Most of them were women and children. These areas are Dera Allah Yar, Sohbatpur, Gandakha, Rojhan Jamali and Jhal Magsi. Report said Gas has spread like a epidemic and mostly children and women were suffering. Clean drinking water is not available in these areas due to floods and stomach diseases were spreading. Hundreds of patients were admitted into civil hospital Dera Murad Jamali who were suffering from stomach diseases, cerebral malaria, gastro, snake bite.
Meanwhile, clean drinking water supply is being made by Poverty Elevation and Sustainable Development Society in collaboration with UNICEF in tent villages flood hit areas on daily basis. It is in a bid to overcome water borne diseases.
Council session has also been launched with affected women at tent villages along Station road and Model High School and those living along road side that newly born babies should be fed on mother’s milk and they should be fed for at least two years. Women were also apprised about cleanliness.
