Balochistan Offers Coal To Oman
For Its Coal-Fired Power Plants
Nawab Aslam Raisani Visits Embassy Of Sultanate Of Oman

ISLAMABAD, 20 August: (INP) The Government of Balochistan has offered supply of coal to the Sultanate of Oman for running its coal-fired power plants in Muscat and other parts of the Country. The offer was extended by the Chief Minister of Balochistan, Nawab Aslam Khan Raisani during a visit to the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman here Thursday.
Nawab Aslam Raisani was leading a delegation comprising provincial ministers including Mir Zafarullah Zehri; Sardar Aslam Bizenjo; Syed Ehsan Shah; Mir Sadiq Umrani; Babu Amin Umrani; Engineer Zamrak Khan and Senator Mir Muhammad Ali Rind.
On the occasion the Ambassador of Sultanate of Oman, H.E. Muhammad bin Said bin Muhammad al-Lawati received the Chief Minister and his delegation. They discussed matters of mutual interest with focus on close brotherly relations between the people of both countries in general and that of Balochistan in particular.
Nawab Aslam Raisani informed the Ambassador that Balochistan had huge deposits of best quality coal in Degari, Machh, Harnai, Coalpur, Chamalang and other parts of the province, which could be exported to Oman via Gwadar Port for utilization in coal-fired power plants being established across the Sultanate.

The Chief Minister maintained that the shipment of such coal would not only prove to be economical for the Sultanate of Oman but would also help increase trade and commerce activities in the region and provide employment and revenue opportunities to the people of Balochistan. Nawab Raisani directed the Provincial Secretary and the Director General Mineral Development Department to provide the coal sample to the embassy at the earliest.
Nawab Aslam Raisani also asked the Ambassador to consider import of best quality dates and fruits, especially apples produced in abundance in the province. The Omani Ambassador evinced his keen interest in the best variety of rice cultivated in Nasirabad Division. On this the Chief Minister deputed provincial ministers Mir Sadiq Umrani and Babu Amin Umrani for taking necessary steps. The Omani Ambassador was also invited to visit the province for which H.E. Muhammad bin Said bin Muhammadal-Lawati agreed to visit Quetta after the holy month of Ramadan.[/size]
