Secretary General BNP dies in target killing
QUETTA July 14 (PPI): Secretary General Balochistan National Party (BNP) was murdered in an act of target killing here Wednesday.
BNP announced to observe 40 days mourning and three day strike in the province against his murder.
He was senior lawyer of Supreme Court. He started his professional career as a lawyer. He also remained Chairman BSO. He acquired preliminary education in Quetta and higher Education in Russia. He went to Afghanistan during Zia period. After leading exiled life for 10 years he returned to Balochistan in 1994.
According to details, Habib Jalib was going to city from his home in Pirkani Abad Sariab road here today. Unidentified persons riding motorcycles opened fire on him. He suffered serious injuries. He was shifted to civil hospital by Edhi ambulance but he succumbed to his injuries.
Unknown persons fled form the scene.
News of his death spread immediately in the metropolis and political workers of BNP and other parties reached civil hospital. They shouted slogans  against the government. They staged a protest and forced shops to close at Sariab road, Qambrnai road, Samungli road, Zarghoon road, Prince road, Sabzal road and other areas and blocked roads by putting hurdles.
Angry protestors also tried to move towards Governor House and CM Secretariat but police forced them to flee by firing tear gas shells.
Strong protests was made in several parts of the province including Noshki, Kharan, Chagai, Mastung, Khuzdar, Kalat, Hub and other parts. Protestors also caused damage to public property.
In the afternoon, Habib Jalib Baloch was buried in Killi Pirkani Abad Sariab road.
