Center, Balochistan govts’ failed to come up to wishes of masses: NP
QUETTA: President National Party, Senator Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch has stated that the central and provincial governments have failed to come up to the expectations of the masses with regard to resolve their problems.
Addressing a crowded press conference at the MPA Hostel after the central committee meeting of the Party, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch said that the masses had given verdict against the expectations of the Establishment in the 18th February general elections, as such the political parties, which were given mandate by the masses in the elections, are under obligation to come upto their expectations.
He categorically stated that we don’t demand of the midterm elections, but want the parliamentary parties honour the public mandate.
Referring the decisions made in meeting of the central committee of the party, Senator Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch voiced great concern against the “military” operation in different parts of the province.
He said that the operation being carried out in the last government’s era, is still continued in some areas of the province. Still the workers of political parties are kidnapped and got missed, whom whereabouts are unknown.
The process of the highhandedness and cruelty is also continued against the political workers unabated. So nothing was changed what was going on in the past in Balochistan, he regretted.
He noted that a new political environment was created in the country after the 18th February elections when the masses had voted the political parties against the expectations of the Establishment, and they had great expectations with them, but the parties in government just failed to come upto their expectations. Consequently, the people now are getting disappointed, he added.
He stressed that the central and provincial governments need to pay attention towards the issues of the masses so as to address them accordingly.
To a query, he said that we support the stance of all the political and nationalist parties and the people of the province have the complete right over its resources and coast.
To another question, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch said that there’s no ban on the joining of the party by any Nawab and Sardar, nor we have any link with the BLA.
However, we would support the struggle being waged for the rights of the province, he said and added that the procedure for the rights could be different, but the goal is same.
About the decisions made in the party’s central committee meeting, he said that some important decisions were made in the meeting, which would bear good results in future.
He also said that we are ready to extend every possible cooperation to the government to maintain law and order in the province.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary General of the NP, Senator (Retd) Tahir Bizenjo said that Balochs and Pashtoons are inhabited in Balochistan for centuries, and we would not let any one to come them to blows.
He also said that we have a sight on such elements, which are hatching conspiracies against them, but they can’t succeed in their designs.
Present on the occasion were the central and provincial office bearers of the party.
