Civil defence training lacking
QUETTA: Hundreds rushed to the site of the unfortunate blast which occurred opposite famous Liaquat Park.
Huge fire followed the explosion in which one person was roasted alive, while 12 others were injured some of them sustained severe burn injuries.
Tragedy struck the metropolis Monday afternoon just few minutes before several schools located in the close vicinity were going to ring the off bell. Had the explosion been a little later situation God forbid should had been much serious.
Soon after the blast citizens  rushed to the place of incident, many tried to carry out rescue operation-this of course was a right thing to do- any responsible citizen would come to the relief of the those in distress or victims of such a tragedy.
This is what we all should do and expect the same from others.
However, during this time ambulances started rushing to the site but alas no one was ready to give them space to reach the bomb blast site.
Policemen, security staff and firemen who had reached the spot faced difficulty to undertake the rescue operation.
Worried crowd was present they also wanted to help many did so and in the rescue operation  they were injured.
Nevertheless, in their desperate to save the victims they unintentionally blocked the passage of ambulances and fire tenders and other concerned  rushing towards  the site.
It took tons of efforts to ensure a clear passage and rescue operation was hampered due to the delay.
According to the official findings major cause of death in accidents occur due to over bleeding- delay in the transportation of injured victims to hospitals speaks about the consequences.
It is fair time that citizens should be made aware about such technicalities-it would also be in the fittest of matter to opt for civil defence training.
This is being done all over the globe-drills of different nature are held on routine basis so that at the time of crisis people could face the situation- this act would not only save their own lives but of victims
