Deputy Chairman Senate speaks
NASIRABAD Aug 27 (PPI): Recent floods in the country are much bigger than tsunami which has affected crops over millions of acres of land and millions of people. Their livestock, houses have been washed away by water. Time would take to rehabilitate them. Government was extending every possible assistance to affectees within its limited resources.
These views were expressed by Deputy Chairman Senate Jan Muhammad Jamali while speaking with flood hit families during his visit to flood hit areas of Jaffarabad.
Jan Jamali said that during his hour of trouble nation has to create 1947 like spirit so that flood devastations could be overcome. He said flood has caused billions of Rupees losses. People’s animals and houses have been destroyed and they have taken shelter in every nook and corner of the country.
He said international organizations and philanthropists should play their role during this difficult time. He said inquiry should be held against those who were involved in creating flood in Sindh and Balochistan so that no such plan succeeds in future.
Deputy Chairman Senate asked Federal and provincial governments for immediate restoration of ground links so that flood hit people could return to their homes and hearths and start their lives afresh.
