Lawyers to boycott courts, daily token strike
QUETTA Aug 28 (PPI): Lawyers have announced to boycott courts on every Wednesday, daily token strike and protest demonstration after eid in front of Supreme Court.
The announcement was made by Lawyers leaders at a joint Press conference here Saturday. They included President Balochistan High Court Bar Association Hadi Shakil Advocate, President Balochistan Bar Association Baz Muhammad Kakar, Vice President Supreme Court Bar Association Amanullah Kanrani, President Baloch Bar Shehek Baloch.
They said that their two colleagues Munir Mirwani Advocate and Zaman Marri Advocate were kidnapped. Zaman Marri was abducted on August 18 when he was going to his home in Hazarganji while Munir Mirwani was kidnapped three months ago form Khuzdar.
We staged protest meetings for their recovery but they could not be recovered yet. Therefore lawyers bodies have jointly decided to hold token strike after 1130am daily, boycott of courts on every Wednesday and protest demonstration in front of Supreme Court after Eidul Fitr. We also announce to come to roads also. They said if there is any case against these lawyers, it should be tried in open court.
They said we had hopes in court but our colleague lawyers could not be recovered yet. And our hopes were dying. We do not support any one. We have always supported principles. We also did not support Chief Justice Supreme Court Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry in person but by virtue of his office. We supported his sacrifices.
They said we warn government these two lawyers should be recovered before eid. If they were not recovered we would launch a movement after eid and hold a protest demonstration in front of Supreme Court.
They said whereabouts of these two lawyers were still unknown despite our protest and demonstrations and which agency has picked them. We also warn the government we would take tougher steps for the recovery of these tow lawyer. If government did not recover them till Eid, we would come on the roads after eid and we have contacted with lawyers community all over the country. They asked political parties to play their role.
