What's the education minister's qualification? To me he seems like the least educated person. Sorry a bit harsh but true.

Qualification - Minister for Education or Minister of Education(two different things): HE IS MR ZARDARI'S MAN.

That is the highest qualification - you have to be in the good books of Mr President.

Like Ms Naheed Khan and her husband - even though they are academically qualified, they were not given any post: because they are not Mr President's people.

Its all in the game boyz.

Pakistan’s Education Minister killed

Education minister of Pakistan’s Balochistan province was killed by armed gunmen. The minister was recognized as Shafiq Ahmed Khan.

It was reported that the attackers were riding a motorbike and they went near to Ahmed and fired at him in Quetta. Senior police officer Shahid Nizam Durrani said that “It was a terrorist activity”.

Witnesses said that Ahmed was shot when he was about to enter his home after parking his car. Durrani said that Ahmed rarely used the security guards. A local armed group the Balochistan Liberation United Front claimed the responsibility to a local news paper using a phone call.

It is believed that the assassination came as Pakistani troops continue to hammer and launch attacks against Taliban in Waziristan. The military said “Today after intense engagements, security forces secured the significant mountain top of Tarkona Narai after an effort lasting 16 hours”.

Sources said that 15 Taliban fighters were killed and one soldier was killed in the fighting. Fresh reports are to be released since the military blocked the access to south waziristan. The attack came after the military captured Kotkai which was described as a “big success” by Pakistani military spokesman, Major-General Athar Abbas.

Athar said “The good news is that [communications] intercepts show that there are differences forging among the Taliban ranks, their aides are deserting them”.

Around 30,000 Pakistani troops have been deployed in the campaign against Taliban in south Waziristan a week ago. They estimated that Taliban fighters could be around 10 to 12 thousand. The government said that the region became their base since the fighters who fled Afghanistan after US invasion brought down Taliban. At that time they took refuge in the following area.
