Shahbaz Sharif announces Rs 100m for Hunza lake affectees
GILGIT+HUNZA, May 24 (INP): Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Chief Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif have announced Rs.100 million relief fund for rehabilitation of the affectees of Hunza Lake.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief and Shahbaz Sharif reached Gilgit on Monday to visit the affectees of the Attabad Lake in Hunza.
Talking to newsmen in Gilgit, Nawaz Sharif expressed solidarity with the affectees of the lake created at Hunza River after massive landslide blocked the river.
The Chief Minister Punjab, senator Raja Zafur-Haq and Pervaiz Rashid also accompanied with the PML-N chief.
Speaking to the affactees of Hunaz Lake in their relief camps they pledged all-out support for the people of Hunza and Gilgit-Baltistan in the hour of need.
They also said that medical staff and doctors from Punjab would reach the affected areas in next 72 hours.
The Punjab Chief Minister announced RS.0.5 million for families of those lost lives in the landslide that caused the lake at Hunaz.
He said Punjab government would provide free education and boarding for the affected students of Hunza in Punjab.
He said that people of Punjab would not leave the people of Hunza alone in this difficult time.
He said that Punjab government along with government of Gilgit-Baltistan would do relief work and rehabilitation of the affected people.
