Speaker-QESCO briefing
QUETTA Oct 1 (PPI):  Speaker Balochistan Assembly Aslam Bhotani has said that agriculture sector was badly damaged due to suspension in electricity following suspension of supply from 220 kv Guddu-Uch-Sibi transmission line.
Speaking at a briefing at QESCO headquarters here Friday  he said QESCO should make immediate arrangements for supply of electricity following suspension of 220 kv transmission line.
QECO Chief Muhammad shafiq Khattak said that these lines fall in the orbit of National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) which itself monitors repair and look after of these lines. QESCOdistributes available electricity through 132/11 kv lines however QESCO administration makes immediate contacts with provincial government for matters relating to security clearance in case of suspension of these lines and provindes cooperation to NTDC officials.
He asked the participants to expand cooperation with the provincial and federal government in  this regard.
He said during the visit of Managing Director PEPCO  to Quetta he had assured Chief Secretary that talks were being held for supply of electricity to Balochistan form alternate sources while a proposal for setting up 200 mw power house in Shaikhmanda was also under consideration. He asked Speaker and provincial ministers for extending cooperation to QESCO.
He said under village electrification programme he said under Kuwait Fund, a total of 664 villages of 700 villages have been electrified Due to correct utilization of this funder, another 500 villages would be electrified under this fund.
Shafiq Khattak also conducted a detailed briefing  on countrywide load shedding and ongoing development projects in the province on which Speaker expressed his satisfaction.
