UAE  to invest 40 billion US Dollars in agriculture sector of Balochistan

QUETTA: United Arab Emirates has announced to invest 40 billion US Dollars in agriculture sector of Balochistan.
This vital decision has been taken during a high level meeting between a seven members UAE  delegation led by UAE investors delegation led by UAE Minister for Investment Khadim Abdullah Aldari and Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Aslam Raisani here on Saturday.
Acting Consul General based at Karachi Bakht Atiq Ali al-Rehmati and others were also present during the meeting along with Provincial Minister for Industries Syed Ehsan Shah.
This investment would be provided soon and work on projects would be initiated by middle of  next year.
UAE Minister for Investment Khadim Abdullah Aldari during the course of meeting with the CM stated that we consider Pakistan as our second home, specially Balochistan Province.
He said that we have special love for the people of Pakistan  and assured that apart from huge investments in different projects we would undertake more social sector projects in Balochistan, be it health, education and  other areas by which masses could benefit.
He said that people of Balochistan are our brothers and we would take all such steps for their welfare and in this regard would assist the government of the day with an open hand.
Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani thanked the UAE Minister and his team for their love and said that people of Pakistan, specially Balochistan consider people of UAE as their brothers and have special feelings for them.
He specially mentioned that historic ties that people of Balochistan have with people of Gulf.
Chief Minister also apprised the members of the delegation about mammoth projects of Balochistan.
Earlier, during a high level meeting it was informed that UAE Government would set up a farm of international standard in Merani Dam Command Area where wheat, cotton, pulses and other food varieties would be grown.
MoU in this regard would be reached soon and in this regard Chief Minister gave a green signal to form a high level committee to finalize modalities.
Members of the committee include,  Additional Chief Secretary Development Ahmed Baksh Lehri, Senior Member Board of Revenue, Secretary Agriculture and Irrigation, including DCO Keich. Meeting of this committee would be held next month in Gwadar and Turbat.
It was further informed UAE plans to irrigate 33,000 acres of land, rather it would be agriculture farming.
Around 300 persons in the area would be provided regular jobs, while 4,000 more would be accommodated.
UAE firm would also take social sector projects in the area , including construction of  three kilometers of metal road, hospitals, schools, grid station, etc.
CM speaking on the occasion, said that Provincial Government was taking all possible step to ensure law and order in the Province.
He informed that other UAE firms, including China has expressed interest in other projects.
Nawab Raisani, said that best possible security would be provided to investors and directed the officials concerned to expedite the process of setting up these projects.
He informed that Federal Government has agreed to construct highways between Turbat, Gwadar and Karachi.
Officials informed that Gwadar Port would become further busy and some 20 container ships would arrive here on daily basis.
