ISLAMABAD, Apr 18 (APP): Prime Minister's Youth Skill Development
programme is drawing overwhelming response from the youth across the country.
More than 30,000 candidates have applied against 25,000 training slots
so far, with maximum turn-out in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA, Balochistan and Sindh.
This enthusiasm on the part of the youth to attain employable skills
reflects a strong tendency towards better economic future for the country, Radio Pakistan reported.
The application submission process started on April 7 and will
continue till April 20, 2014. Screening of applications starts on April 21 and the final merit list of successful applicants will be made public on May 07, 2014. The training courses will start on May 12.
The screening process would be regulated through a transparent
mechanism based on an objective score card.
A rigorous monitoring and evaluation system has also been put in place
apart from an independent third-party evaluation mechanism to ensure optimal
utilisation of the allocated 800 million rupees for the human resource
development of country under this scheme.
