Seminar on International Hepatitis Day

QUETTA July 20 (PPI): Present year is year of change. We have weaknesses and we would remove these weaknesses in league with community.
This was stated by provincial Health Minister Rehmat Saleh Baloch while addressing a seminar Think Again on International Hepatitis Day organised by Save the Children, Integrated Maternal, Newborn and Child healthcare Project,
MPAs Nasrullah Baloch, Dr Shama Ishaq, Shahida Rauf, Dg Helth Balchistna Dr Naseer Baloch, Dr Ayesha Siddiq, Dr Rukhsana Kasi, Programme Coordinator Save the Children Sardar Ahmed Khan, Abdullah Khan, Dr Shahida Rauf, Razaur Rehman President Quetta Press Club, Irfan Saeed President BUJ and others also spoke.
MPA Ms Raheela Durrani, Secretary Health Arshad Hussain Bugti, members of MNCH Steering Committee also attended the seminar.
Health Minister referred to challenges about health and measures adopted by provincial government. He aid awareness can play important role to stop spread of hepatitis while doctors, nurses particularly health workers in this regard.
He said we would include consultations of today to our policies as the province has no health policy. Present government has political commitment.
He referred to purchasing in the health department and claimed it to be very transparent. He said NAB has asked various departments to follow this purchasing policy. He said all the patient s admitted into the hospital were getting medicines but he said providing 100 percent out door patients with medicines. He said he has sought lists from Medical Superintendents of hospitals and provided them medicines. He said present government has provided Rupees 500 million to civil hospital and Rupees 700 million to BMC.
Referring to complaints of corruption health Minister said we have written to Anti Corruption Establishment about it.
He said company which would supply machinery would give lifetime guarantee.
Health Minister said credit of inauguration of labour room at the civil hospital goes to Ms Raheela Durrani. He asked all the MPAs to follow her thinking.
He said we would vaccinate student sin 10 districts of the province. Twenty eight closed centres have been made functional. He said Open heart surgery has been launched at the civil hospital which is benign done for the first time.
He said despite meagre resources and backwardness we would create awareness among the masses about hepatitis.
