QUETTA July 21 (PPI): Independence Day celebrations would commence on august 8 and would continue till August 14.
This decision was taken at a high level meeting chaired by Commissioner Quetta Davison Qambar Dashti here Monday.
Capital City Police Officer Abdul Razzaq Cheema, Additional Commissioner Quetta Muhammad Qasim Mengal, Deputy Commissioner Quetta Abdul Lateef Kakar, Chief Officer Metropolitan Corporation Yaqoob Zehri, Representatives from Pak Army, FC, Traffic Police, Education, health, women Development, Pakistan Sports Board, QESCO and others were present.
Meeting was told that all possible resources were being mobilized to celebrate Independence Day with national enthusiasm, spirit and in an impressive manner. Various provincial departments would organize functions on the occasion wherein National heroes of Independence Movement world be paid salutes and culture and customs of the province would be highlighted.
Independence Day celebrations would commence on august 8 and would continue till August 14.These celebrations include Sports including football, cricket and hockey completion of women and men while education department would hold speech, essay writing and other completions at Boy Scouts headuq2arters among students. Besides Independence Day functions would also be held at the schools.
Metropolitan Corporation would install banners and illuminate buildings in the city. Emergency plans would also implement for cleanliness of the Metropolis.
For women interest flower exhibition, seminar by Women Development and speech contests on Women Role in Independence Movement would also be organized. Flag hoisting ceremonies would also be held at all headquarters while main ceremony would be held at Ayub Stadium Quetta on August 12. It would be marked by cultural dances, flying past, parachuting past, musical programme, tableaus and other programmes and march past. Repair and renovation of stadium, facilities and other works would be completed at the earliest.
All possible steps would be taken to ensure people?s participation in these ceremonies, illumination of all public buildings.
