Balochistan faces 1050 mw shortfall

QUETTA July 24 (PPI): Balochistan is facing shortfall of 1050 megawatts of electricity.
According to sources demand of electricity in Balochistan except Mekran is 1650 mw while supply is 600.This difference in demand and supply is met through load management in various parts of the province in different timings. Five to six hours load shedding daily is done in Quetta, 10 hours daily supply is made to all district headquarters and City feeders and agriculture feeders 6 to 7 hours daily.
Due to increasing demand and shortage of supply there is massive burden on QESCO system. It was resulting in tripping, low voltage in different areas.
QESCO has appealed to consumers to switch off their unnecessary appliances and use electricity while only required so that all the consumers are ensured supply.
