NAB files reference for embezzlement in Pt Feeder Canal funds

QUETTA Sep 16 (PPI): National Accountability Bureau Balochistan has filed a reference against three officials of Pat Feeder Canal Division and government contractor for embezzlement in funds of rehabilitation of the canal.
NAB Balochistan Sources said here Tuesday funds were released to Irrigation Department following flood in Pat Feeder Canal in 2012 for rehabilitation. Concerned officers misappropriated Rupees 16623456/-
During investigation NAB and Engineering experts viewed and unearthed faulty work and incomplete work involving Rupees 16623456/- which was paid to the contractors thus causing loss to national kitty.
During investigation Shafi Muhammad Mengal XEN Pt Feeder Canal division Dera Murad Jamali was arrested on 8.5.2014. NAB Balochistan filed a reference against Shafi Muhammad Mengal, Khadim Hussain SDO, Abdul Shakoor SDO and Daud Khan Government contractor here on September 15. 2014.
