USAID organizes training for power distribution control centre staff

QUETTA Sep 18 (PPI): Organising training for Power Distribution control Centre of Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) is good sign. This training would help staff to keep ready to improve distribution system all the time.
This was stated by Chief Engineer (Operation) QESCO Abdul Karim Baloch while addressing 2-day Load Management training programme aimed at providing awareness to the staff of Poe Distribution Control Centre Staff of modern equipment and monitoring.
Additional management Samiullah, Additional Management (GSO) Engineer Shafqat Ali, Senior Project Coordinator USAID Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor and others were also present.
Karim Baloch expressed hope that USAID would continue such programmes for PDCC staff of QESCO in future also.
Earlier Senior Coordinator USAID Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor in his lecture said Power Distribution of USAID has successful enforced Load Data Improvement programme successfully in the power distribution companies. It is aimed at to minimize load shedding without schedule and its better monitoring. He said Automatic Metre Reading (AMR) have been installed at all the companies on emergency basis. In addition power distribution control centre has also been upgraded at every company of the country. Control centres of these distribution companies are connected with Central Computer Centre?s server of WAPDA House.
It is added here that American government under five year programme of USAID was providing financial assistance to government of Pakistan to reform electricity sector and resolving present crisis of energy.
