SUI Nov 22 (PPI): Responsibility of uplift of District Dera Bugti and provision of employment lies with PPL and OGDCL besides government. However despite repeated attention drawn by provincial government authorities of these tow companies did not make any headway.
These views were expressed by Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch at a briefing on community Social welfare reform programme by Company officials visit to PPL Complex here Saturday.
Earlier upon arrival Sui Chief Minister was received by Commissioner Sibi Division Ghulam Ai Baloch, Deputy Commissioner Dera Bugti Shah Zeb Mandokhel, tribal and political elders and senior civil and military officers.
Provincial Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti, Commander Southern Command Lt General Nasser Khan Janjua, Chief Secretary Saifullah Chatha, IG FC Major General Muhammad Ejaz Shahid, Principal Secretary Muhammad Naseem Lehri and others were also present.
Chief Minister expressed anger that employments were not given to unemployed literate youth and engineers in PPL and OGDCL. It was creating unrest among them. Contrary to claims of these companies no development work has been carried out in Sui and Dera Bugti nor attention paid on providing employment to youth. These companies have not played any worth mentioning role for provision of drinking water, gas, electricity, education and health to small population in Sui. It is regrettable.
He said Sui Gas was being mined since 1952in Sui. Its benefit has taken by PPL, OGDCL and SSGC, industries in the country and domestic consumers but local people were deprived of gas and other facilities yet. Claims about these by these companies are lies and baseless.
It was decided that a committee headed by Chief Secretary would be constituted which would review welfare projects of PPL, OGDCL and SSGC for the welfare of people of the area and take stock of claims of these companies. It would also monitor their projects.
Chief Minister directed PPL, OGDCL and SSGC should prepare comprehensive development package for the welfare of people of Dera Bugti to provincial government so that said committee ensures its implementation.
