CM-Installation of CCTV cameras

QUETT A Nov 24 (PPI): Benefitting modern technology for end to terrorism and crimes is inevitable. IT system would help save Quetta city from terrorism and serious crimes.
These views were expressed by Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch while addressing a briefing on installation of CCTV cameras here Monday.
Provincial Minister for Information Technology, information law and Parliamentary Affairs Abdul Rahim Ziaratwl, Local government minister Sardar Mustafa Tareen, Chief Secretary Saifullah Chatha, Additional Chief Secretary Development Ali Zaheer Hazara, Principal Secretary to CM Muhammad Naseem Lehri, Deputy Commissioner Quetta and other officers were present.
Chief Minister said that during present age developed countries while benefitting from information Technology have provided security to their people against serious crimes including terrorism. Growing population and increase in terrorism can be faced by using modern technology.
Director General Information Technology briefing Chief Minister said that 1414 modern cameras would be installed at six different entry and exit points and sensitive spots in connection with security of Quetta City for monitoring vehicles and suspected people. With this monitoring would be carried out of any suspected man, vehicle and other suspected things at the control room through modern system.
Meeting was told that these cameras would be kept operative with the help of PTCL, wireless system and solar system in case of suspension of electricity. Numbers of all the vehicles and inmates would also be identified by these cameras. At the entry points of provincial capital X-Ray machines would be installed for checking things inside vehicles and these things cold be seen.
Meeting was told that monitoring Centres are being setup for monitoring modern system of cameras. Besides screens would also be installed at the police vehicles so that officers on duty could also review the situation.
Meeting was told that several countries of the world were benefitting from this system for overcoming crimes.
Sameera Javi team member Itesalat Advisery Business Development told meeting that his company was running such several projects with success in Abu Dhabi and it has vast experience and expertise in this regard.
Chief Minister on the occasion strictly directed that long term measure should also be taken for permanent working of this project and it should be implemented through transparent phases so that no one criticizes us in future.
He said installation of CCTV cameras would help check crimes and incidents of terrorism in Quetta city to a great extent.
