KILLA ABDULLAH Nov 25 (PPI): Every person of society and media all have to play their role for eradication of polio. Committees have been formed to agree those denying importance of polio. Two percent of denying people have been agreed for administering polio drops.
These views were expressed by Commissioner Quetta Division Qambar Dashti while speaking to Newsmen during his visit to Killa Abdullah Tuesday.
Deputy Commissioner Killa Abdullah Muhammad Naeem Khan Bazai, AC Muhammad Ayub and others were also present.
Commissioner Quetta said polio is a dangerous but curable disease. It is duty of parents to feed polio drops to save their children from lifelong disability.
He said all the pole including Media has to play role for eradication of polio.
He said most of the cases in Killa Abdullah relate to Afghanistan, Khyber Pashtoonkhwa and Karachi. It is our effort not to have any case of polio. He said for the last about 20 months no polio case has been reported in Killa Abdullah.
He said committees have been formed to agree those refusing administration of polio drops to their children. These are comprised of Ulema, tribal elders and others. These would meet them from time to time and agree them.
Commissioenr Quetta said due to such efforts two percent parents have agreed. It is hoped that owing to positive steps polio would be eliminated. He made it clear that no leniency would be tolerated in this regard.
He particularly called upon Ulema and tribal elders to extend full cooperation with polio teams so that polio cases are completely eliminated.
He also fed anti polio drops to a child at HRC Killa Abdullah.
