QUETTA jan 26 (PPI): Police and journalists should improve working relationship among each other and help police to discharge its responsibility.
This was stated by Capital City Police Officer Abdul Razzaq Cheema while speaking at closing ceremony of 3-day Safety and Security training of journalists and certificate distribution ceremony at Police Lines here Monday.
Ms Naseem Shaikh Coordinator Pakistan Press Foundation and Senor Network Coordinator Musawwar Shahid were also present.
He said both police and journalists working jointly to eliminate terrorism and provide security to the citizens.
He said police always rushed to the scene of incident and journalists also do the same. But there is need to create awareness among the masses that evidence on the scene of incident must be secured and not to be destroyed by rushing the scene. They should keep away from the site because owing to rush police find sit difficult to gather evidences. He said confession of accused in the courts is not acceptable unless evidences of scene are match.
Earlier AIG Shahzada Sultan in his remarks said nations shine after passing through experiences. We are gripped by terrorism and our jawans and children are being slaughtered. Terrorists are out to disturb society. It is test for us. We have to prove we are a nation and stand with each other in such a situation. He said today?s states cannot purchase journalists. Journalists and media is free today. We have to work together for the security of the country. Good governance is our common goal and we would make efforts in this regard.
Commander bomb disposal Squad Abdul Razzaq also gave details of various types of IEDS and suicide jackets. He aid now methods of investigation have changed and it is carried out on scientific grounds.
DSP Hameedullah also gave details of various security measures and legal points.
An introduction to commonly used guns was also told while a mock drill of bomb blast was also carried.
