Promotion of education govt.’s top priority, insist PkMAP MPAs

QUETTA: The Members of Provincial Assembly belonging to Pashtoonkhaw Milli Awami Party (PkMAP), Ms. Masooma Hayat and William Barkat have said that promotion of education is the government’s top priority.
They said that the National Testing System (NTS) has been introduced to ensure on-merit recruitments of teachers in the Education department putting an end to the culture of safarish.
The PkMAP parliamentarians were addressing a meeting arranged by the non-governmental organizations, Pakistan Coalition for Education and Pamir Development Society working in the education sector, here at a local hotel.
They maintained that education is the only source of education, so we need to fully concentrate on it.
In addition to the government, the role of teachers as well as other segments of the society is vital in promotion of education, so all should contribute in the cause, they maintained.
Ms. Masooma Hayat on the occasion said that we have to bring change in our approach and thinking towards education, its related issues and for their solution.
We are determined to bring transparency in the education system, she stressed maintaining that the public cooperation is vital and as such they have to fully cooperate in this regard.
She said that the present government has made it possible to impart primary education to the children in their own mother languages. Although it is a good initiative, but it should also be made official language, she stressed.
Moreover, she also mentioned that steps are also being taken for training of the teachers so that they are able to discharge their duties well.
