QUETTA: The Balochistan government has decided to organize Pakistan Day Sports Festival 2015 in Quetta like the last year. The Sports Festival is scheduled to start from March 22 and will remain continued till March 29, 2015.
The decision to this effect was made during a meeting held with the Chief Secretary, Saifullah Chattha in the chair here the other day.
The meeting reviewed the arrangements for the Sports Festival to be organized marking celebrations of Pakistan Day.
The Secretary Sports briefed the meeting about the arrangements made and being made for the mega event, which would feature different sporting events.
He informed the meeting that the sports competitions in connection with the festival would be organized at the divisional level this time unlike the last year.
However, the final competitions would be organized in Quetta, he maintained. He also mentioned that different colourful activities would also be part of the festival. These are included: music show, fire work besides others.
The Chief Secretary on the occasion directed to ensure participation of the elected representatives of the Local Bodies in the Sports Festival.
The due representation should be given to the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Quetta Metropolitan Corporation as well as the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Municipal Committees, Municipal Corporations and the District Councils in the Festival to make it success, he directed further.
