First phase of Polio immunization completed

QUETTA: The first phase of Polio immunization was completed in Quetta district.
According to the Health department sources, 18 out of total 35 zones were covered in first phase of the polio immunization.
Over 2,16,000 children below five years of age were administered the anti-polio drops during the first phase.
The sources informed that over 2,28,000 children would be vaccinated in remaining 17 zones to be covered in second phase of the campaign.
While the first phase was completed on Thursday last, the second phase is scheduled to be launched from March 02, 2015 (Monday next).
The sources said that the necessary security arrangements have been made to ensure safety of the polio workers engaged in the immunization campaign.\
