Marvi Memon visits Qeutta, meets Governor, CM

QUETTA(PPI): Balochistan Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai has said Benazir Income support Programme (BISP) can e further improved with the cooperation of councilors at the union and Tehsil levels following local bodies elections in the province.
He was speaking to BSIP Chairperson Mohtarma Marvi Memon who held a meeting with him along with her delegation here Monday. Delegation included Federal Secretary BISP Shabbir Ahmed, DG Balochistan Jawwad Ahmed, Director headquarters Abdul Rauf Khan.
She briefed Governor about BSIP and exchanged views on future course of action.
Later she also called on Balochistan chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Balch at CM Secretariat. At a briefing on the occasion she told Chief Minister that after assuming office of Chairperson BISP she has come to Balochistan in the directives of Prime Minister and would visit Sibi and Loralai besides Quetta. She would meet poor women at these places. She told that system fo cash assistance was being improved further. At the same time Waseela Taleem progrmame has also been launched in six districts of Balochistan. Under this programme every school going child would be provided stipend of rupees 200 per month and this programme would be expanded further. Secretary BISP briefed that during the past three months around 60 new officers and staff has been appointed in Balochistan and their offices would be established in all the districts. He told that there are around 200, 000 women whose identity cards were not available to BISP yet. A campaign would be launched along with councilors so that these women could also be provided assistance.
Chief Minister Welcoming visit of BISP chairperson assured her that he would provide complete cooperation to this programme. He directed secretaries and senior officers of various departments present at the meeting that they should form committees with BSIP provincial chief and staff and play their role for further improving the programme.
He appreciated Marvi Memon that she first visited Balochistan after assuming her office and visiting other cities of the province..
Marvi Memon also visited BISP Quetta office along with her officers and met with women. She freely mixed up with the women and apprised their problems.
She then went to regional office and met with BISP officers and staff. She told them that on the directives of Prime Minister she had come to this programme under a mission and desired they and BISP staff could honestly support her in this programme aimed at elimination poverty.
