2nd Balochistan Sports Festival 2015 from Mar 5

QQUETTA Mar 4 (PPI): Second Balochistan Sports Festival 2015 would get underway from March 5. Divisional level sports events would commence form Thursday while final round would start from March 22.
This was announced by Provincial Sports Minister Mujeebur Rehman Muhammad Hasni at a Press conference here Wednesday afternoon.
He was flanked by Secretary Sports Shoaib Gola and other officers.
Sports Minister said we have organised Balochistan Sports Festival in Quetta last year with great success. Twenty games were held for boys and 7 for women in which more than 2200 players and officials participated.
We are organising second Sports Festival this year with support of Sports Department Government of Balochistan in collaboration with Pak Army. This year he added we are initiating this festival at the divisional level so that players of all the divisions can show their skills. Winning teams at the divisional level competitions would then participate at the final found to be held in Quetta form march 22.
He said for the first time six games football, cricket, badminton, shooting ball, table tennis and athletics have also been included at the divisional level competitions.
Festival would start in Mekran and Kalat divisions. Mekran division sports would be held at Gwadar. It would be inaugurated by Commander Pakistan Navy Commodore Akbar Naqi. Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch would be chief guest at the final. Commissioner Kalat Division would open Sports Festival tomorrow at Khuzdar while chief guest at the final would be provincial minister Aslam Bizenjo.
Contests of Quetta and Nasirabad divisions would be played from March 9 to 12 while from March 12 to 15 completions for Sibi and Zhob divisions would be held.
Minister sports said that 4500 players and officials to the participating in these sports would be provided with sports kits, TA, DA and lodging facilities.
Answering a question Mujeebur Rehman Muhammad Hasni said that Rupees11.9 million have been approved for the festival this year. He said we would ensure transparency in the funds. He said that condition of Ayub Stadium, Mali Bagh and girls college would-be improve to hold sports events in a befitting manner.
Final rounds of Balochistan Sports Festival would be held from March 22 to 29 at Ayub Stadium Quetta.
Answering another question he said grants would be given to such sports organisations which are registered with Pakistan Sports Board. We have made these grants double and triple.
