QUETTA: Tanzim Asatza Pakistan (TAP) has presented a 10-point agenda for bringing improvement in the overall state of education affairs and government responsibilities in this regard.
The agenda includes: bringing uniformity in the academic curriculum, on merit recruitment and posting of the teachers, giving constitutional status to the national language Urdu, and others.
The leaders of TAP including its President Professor Dr. Mian Muhammad Akram, Professor Muhammad Izharul Haq, Professor Rehmatullah Mengal, Professor Mubashir Ahmed Siddiqui and others addressed a presser here the other day.
They regretfully pointed out that the overall education scenario doesn't present a good picture. They stressed that it is constitutional obligation of the state to provide free and quality education to all without any discrimination.
The curriculum of the country should be developed on the basis of Islam. Moreover, the national language of Urdu should be enforced fully in true letter and spirit, they stressed further.
The government should pay special importance to education in all its projects, they maintained.
Education should be our top priority in the country as it is key to progress, the leaders of TAP said.
It is a dilemma that there is a forced dominance of alien language in the country, which is unacceptable.
They also charged that the education is being handed over to the private sector.
