Rs. 100 million approved: Security of prisons to be improved further

QUETTA: The Balochistan government has decided to improve further the security of prisons all over the province.
According to the official sources, the provincial government would be purchasing the necessary modern equipments including CCTV cameras and scanners for the jails located in different parts of the province including District Jail Quetta.
The sources said that the government has accorded approval of Rs. 100 million for purchase of the equipments to be installed in the jails.
According to the sources, a committee has been formed for purchase of the equipments. The Secretary Home and Tribal Affairs would head the committee.
The committee would include the Inspector General of Prisons Balochistan, representatives of the Information Technology and other concerned departments.
It may be mentioned here that there are 11 jails operating in different parts of the province. Majority of them have been declared sensitive. They are included Central Jail Mach and District Jail Quetta.
Several prisoners indicted in different heinous crimes are imprisoned in these jails.
