No compromise to be made on issue of encroachments

QUETTA: The Mayor Quetta Metropolitan Corporation (QMC), Dr. Kalimullah Khan has categorically stated that no compromise would be made on the issue of encroachments in provincial metropolis.
He was talking to delegation from the city area, who called on him here the other day.
Dr. Kalimullah Khan maintained that we are the elected representatives of the masses and would fulfill the commitments made with them.
“We would not be going to tolerate any negligence in solution of the issues being faced by the people and provision of relief to them”, he said.
The Quetta Mayor regretfully pointed out that the extra ordinary rush of the people and encroachments are the major issues of Quetta city, however, we are determined to resolve them.
We would not sit at ease until and unless these issues are resolved, a strong-minded Dr. Kalimullah pledged.
He on the occasion mentioned that different teams have been formed in this regard. He also said that we have started action against the buildings constructed in violation of the Building Code.
Two buildings raised on McCongy Road and Quarry Road in violation of the Building Code have been knocked down a few days back and legal action is also being taken against their owners / builders.
The concerned Magistrate has been given the task to take necessary action in this regard.
The Mayor of Quetta made it clear that we don’t want to harm the interests of the traders, but we would also not be letting any one to harm the public interests.
We honour welfare of the masses at large and would not be ignoring the inconveniences if caused to them just because we don’t want to shatter their confidence in the system, he vowed.
As far the issues of the Quetta city are concerned, it is our city and we have to bring improvement in its state of the affairs, he said.
