QUETTA: Peshawar Region and Auditor General Office cricket teams qualified for the final of All Pakistan T-20 Balochistan Ramadan Cricket Cup Tournament 2015 here the other day. Both the semifinals were played at the Bugti Stadium on Thursday night.
In first semifinal, Peshawar Region defeated Auditor General office team by five wickets. The AG Office team scored 162 runs in the stipulated overs losing six wickets.
Zubair Mengal and Salman scored the highest 51 and 44 runs respectively. Shah Faisal got three wickets for 29 runs.
In reply, Peshawar hit the target at the loss of five wickets and that in 18.5 over.
Muhammad Rizwan made 55 runs and remained prominent from Peshawar. Musaddiq Ahmed was the other prominent scorer with 32 runs.
Tauqir Ahmed took two wickets while bowling for AG Office. Muhammad Rizwan of Peshawar Region was declared Man of the Match. Ghulam Sarwar and Muhammad Aslam Barech served as the umpires while Faheemuddin was the official scorer.
Secretary Sports, Shoaib Ahmed was chief guest of the match. He distributed prizes among the players.
In second semifinal, MCA Peshawar beat Manan Memorial Gymkhana by 10 runs.
MCA elected to bat first after winning the toss. It scored 153 runs at the loss of nine wickets. Mohibullah (35) and Jumma Gul (27) were the prominent scorers.
Attaullah and Irfan Ismail obtained two wickets each for Manan Gymkhana.
In reply, it (MMG) could score 143 runs in stipulated over at the loss of six wickets.
Adil Manan and Irfan Ismail scored 20 runs each. For MCA Peshawar, Nijatullah and Asad Afridi got two wickets each.
Abdullah of the MCA Peshawar was adjudged Man of the Match on his superb performance in the match. He took one wicket giving eight runs in four overs.
Colonel Ehsan Elahi was the chief guest, who distributed prizes among the players.
Khalid Muhammad and Abdul Karim performed as the umpires while Munawwar Khan was the official scorer.
Earlier, in a thrilling match played the other day, the Peshawar Region defeated the defending champions of the tournament i.e., FARA Region by six runs.
It was really a sensational match played between the Peshawar and FATA Regions.
Batting first, FATA Region won the toss and invited Peshawar to bat first. It scored 139 runs at the loss of seven wickets in the stipulated overs.
Musaddiq Ahmed and Muhammad Rizwan were the prominent batsmen with 45 and 29 runs respectively.
For FATA Region, Khushdil Shah and Zubair Khan took two wickets each.
In reply, FATA could score 133 runs at loss of eight wickets in the stipulated overs. Sarwar Khan was the highest scorer with 44 runs from the losing side. He remained unbeaten. Zahid Khan made 22.
Shah Faisal and Abdullah Mazari got two wickets each.
Musaddiq Ahmed was declared Man of the Match. The final of the tournament was to be played on Friday night.
