QUETTA: Chief Secretary Balochistan, Saifullah Chattha has expressed his deep concern over ever declining underground water table in the province.
While chairing a meeting of the Provincial Secretaries’ Committee here the other day, the Chief Secretary said that the underground water level has depleted in the province alarmingly.
In view of it, it has been made essential for the people to get No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the concerned departments for installation of the new tube wells in the province.
No one would be allowed to install new tube wells without the necessary NOC, the Chief Secretary declared.
He also directed to take action against those installing tube wells in the Quetta city without necessary NOC.
No negligence would be tolerated in this regard, he warned.
Those who were in attendance were included: Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development, Naseebullah Khan Bazai, Chairman Chief Minister’s Inspection Team (CMIT), Rana Naseer Ahmed, Senior Member Board of Revenue, Qamar Masood, besides secretaries of almost all the provincial government departments.
The Additional Chief Secretary P&D briefed the Chief Secretary and other participants about the development projects in the province.
Addressing the meeting, the Chief Secretary directed to release funds for the development schemes during the new financial year 2015-16.
No delay would be made in this regard so that the development schemes are started and completed well in time.
He also made it clear to all that an inquiry would be conducted in to the wastage of funds during the previous financial year 2014-15.
The necessary legal action would be taken against those responsible for the wastage of funds, he said.
He on the occasion directed to all the secretaries to submit their reports about the development projects on regular basis.
