P&D directives for timely completion of dev. projects under PSDP

QUETTA: The Provincial Planning and Development Department has issued directives to all the concerned departments to ensure timely completion the development projects approved under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2015-16.
According to an official hand out issued here, Rs. 21.374 billion had been released during last financial year for the ongoing 624 development schemes under PSDP 2014-15. Similarly, Rs. 23.824 billion were released for 1123 schemes making it an aggregate amount of Rs. 45.198 billion.
As many as 807 development projects out of 1747 projects were completed in the last financial year.
The ratio of release of funds remained as 90 percent which was 8 percent higher than the last financial year.
According to the official hand out, 80 percent development projects included in the financial year 2015-15 are those which could not be completed for last eight-10 years due to limited resources.
Similarly, there are 1310 new development projects in the current financial year while the total ongoing projects are 940. So, there are a total of 2250 development projects.
While funds of Rs. 31.586 have been allocated for completion of the new projects, Rs. 22.010 billion have been allocated for the ongoing schemes. This means that the total volume of the development budget is Rs. 54.5 billion.
The amount of Rs. 5 billion have been allocated for the development schemes to be executed through the local government institutions.
As the provincial P&D department has issued directives to all the concerned departments it would be ensured to timely complete the PSDP for the year 2015-16 in the province.
Moreover, the schedule of PDWP, DDWP and DSC has also been issued for timely approval of all the development projects. Under the schedule, the PC-1s of all the projects would be duly approved within the period of three months.
However, ban has been imposed on the Umbrella type of PC-1s. it has been made compulsory to mention real location of all the schemes, limits and number of beneficiaries in detail. Similarly, the funds of the ongoing schemes would be released immediately.
However, issuance of the attested certificates regarding position of the schemes from the engineers and heads of the concerned departments would be essential.
The prescribed procedure of the federal government would be given preference for release of the funds of development projects.
In order to ensure monitoring of the projects and quality of work, the monitoring teams of the Planning and Development department would be proceeding for inspection in different divisions and districts of the province in last week of July.
During the inspection, the officers of the concerned departments and divisional Director Development would also be accompanied with the monitoring teams.
While on the other hand, the progress review of all the projects being executed by the P&D and other departments have been issued so that they are completed as soon as possible and general public may benefit from them.
Moreover, the Chief Engineers and administrative heads of the Works Department have been issued special directives to furnish the monthly review report of the development schemes on regular basis to the P&D department.
