Naseerabad administration asked to be well prepared in view of flashflood

QUETTA: Commissioner Naseerabad Division, Naveed Ahmed Sheikh has directed to all the deputy commissioners and concerned officers to be full prepared to tackle any emergent situation following the flashflood caused due to heavy rains in the Division.
The directives have been issued on special orders of the provincial government in view of the possible heavy rains as forecast by the Met Office.
In addition to the Deputy Commissioners, the Irrigation, Health, Building and Roads and Public Health Engineering departments have particularly been directed to keep all the necessary machinery in order besides taking other precautionary measures.
Similarly, the Health department has been asked to store sufficient medicines with it in the Division.
While on the other hand, control rooms have been set up in the Deputy Commissioners’ offices to remain updated about the emerging situation of flood.
Moreover, the Police Control Room has also been asked to remain in contact with the Control Room established in the Commissioner Office and intimate about the situation after every half an hour.
It may be mentioned here that a meeting was held with Commissioner Naseerabad Division in the chair. The meeting attended by the deputy Commissioners and other divisional officers reviewed the situation of monsoon rains.
The meeting discussed the means for prevention of the flood like situation if emerged following heavy rains in the division.
It was decided to let the rain and flood water flow instead of stopping it.
