Issues of traffic to be resolved, vows Dr. Kalimullah

QUETTA: The Mayor Quetta Metropolitan Corporation (QMC), Dr. Kalimullah Khan has stated that all available resources are being mobilized for resolving the issue of traffic in Quetta city. However, the traders and all other segments of the society would have to extend wholehearted cooperation in the efforts being made by the Metropolitan Corporation in this regard, stressed the Mayor while presiding over a joint meeting of the Markazi Anjuman Tajran, Parking contractors and the Traffic Police, here the other day.
The meeting reviewed the issues of traffic as well as measures taken and being taken for resolution of the same.
The representatives of traders (Anjuman Tajran) pointed out that the shopkeepers are facing problems due to the pad parking at the roadsides and particularly in front of their outlets.
The contractors also criticized the existing situation of the parking.
On the occasion, the Mayor of QMC assured that double parking would not be allowed on the city roads.
The contractors would be responsible for stealing of any vehicle from the parking lots, he asserted.
Dr. Kalimullah Khan told the meeting that four parking plazas are being built in different parts of the city.
He was confident that the issues of traffic would be resolved soon.
The Mayor on the occasion also asked the contractors to provide uniforms to the parking men so as to identify them.
The leaders of Anjuman Tajran present in the meeting were appreciative of the efforts being made by Mayor of QMC for resolving the issues being faced by the city.
The Mayor is taking personal interest in solution of the problems particularly those related with the traders, which is commendable, they maintained.
They also expressed satisfaction over reduction in the incidents of car stealing in the city.
Dr. Kalimullah Khan pledged that the resources and funds of the Corporation would be utilized for resolution of the issues of Quettaites and provision of necessary facilities to them.
He said that we are doing everything in an organized manner, certain difficulties are there, but we would overcome them by the grace of Allah Almighty with sincerity and dedication.
He said that Quetta is the city of all of us, so we including the civil society and traders have to strive for its betterment.
