No negligence to be tolerated in fair delivery of zakat to deserving

QUETTA: Chairman Provincial Zakat Council PEC), Justice (Retd) Ghulam Mustafa Mengal has stated that no negligence and carelessness would be tolerated in distribution of Zakat among the deserving persons.
This, he stated while chairing the 9th meeting of the Zakat Council here the other day.
The Advisor to Chief Minister for Zakat and Ushr, Muhammad Khan Lehri, Secretary Religious Affairs, Zakat and Ushr, Syed Abdul Manan Agha, members of the Zakat Council and other concerned senior officials were in attendance.
The PEC meeting reviewed the annual performance of the Council. It was also aimed at approving the annual budget of the Zakat department for the financial year 2015-16.
Addressing the meeting, the Chairman PEC said that zakat is just like a trust and no one would be allowed to abuse the trust.
He said that we should not commit any negligence in distribution of zakat. It is our duty to ensure distribution of zakat among the deserving people at their doorstep, he stressed further.
Speaking on the occasion, the Advisor on Zakat and Ushr called on the concerned authorities and members of the council to ensure distribution of zakat among the deserving as well as make fair selection of the district zakat chairman.
Earlier, the members of the Zakat Council were introduced to the Advisor to Chief Minister on Zakat.
