Crackdown continues against profiteers and sellers of expiry products

QUETTA: The crackdown against the profiteers and those (shopkeepers) selling expiry items remained continued by the Special Magistrates as six more shopkeepers were arrested and handed over to the area Police.
The Special Magistrate, Ajmal Shah raided in the Sariab area and arrested six shopkeepers on the charges of profiteering and selling expiry products. The arrested shopkeepers were handed over to the Sariab Police for further legal action.
Moreover, the Special Magistrate also took action against the encroachments. Besides charging the encroachers fine of around Rs. 17,000, the encroachments were also removed.
Speaking on the occasion, the Magistrate warned the shopkeepers not to encroachment the footpaths and roads, otherwise stern action would be taken against them.
Those shopkeepers establishing encroachments and involved in profiteering and selling expiry food and other items would not only be fined but also be arrested, he maintained.
Their shops would also be sealed, adding he warned.
Meanwhile, the Special Magistrates Babarak Khan and Inayatullah also raided Zarghoon road, Samungli road and other areas and removed the illegal banners and posters there.
It was warned that similar action would remain continued in future, so the shopkeepers and other vendors should not indulge in illegal activities.
