QUETTA: The Government of Balochistan is determined to establish the full-fledged Medical University soon in the province.
This was stated by the Secretary Health, Noorul Haq Baloch while chairing a meeting on the proposed draft law of the Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences here at the committee room of the Bolan Medical Complex here the other day.
The Principal of BMC Quetta, Professor Dr. Shabbir Ahmed Lehri, Dean Post Graduate Medical Institute, Dr. Riaaz Baloch, Additional Secretary Health, Abdullah Khan, Medical Superintendent of BMC Hospital, Dr. Masood Nosherwani, Head of Urology, Professor Saadat Khan, Head of Nephrology, Professor Muhammad Karim Zarkoon, Head of Gynecology, Professor Dr. Naila Ehsan, Head of Dental Section, Professor Syed Rauf shah, Professor Nadeem Samad, Professor Ayesha Siddiqa, Professor Tasneem Ashraf, Professor Ghulam Rasool, Professor Sarwar Pikrani, Professor Manzoor Ahmed Kakar, Professor Sultan Ahmed, Professor Zahid Mehmood, Assistant Professor Munir Ahmed Baloch,
Professor Masood Ahmed Qazi, Professor Jahangir Ahmed, Professor Amjad Ali, Dr. Nasarullah Mengal, Vice Principal BMC, Surgeon Dr. Khan Muhammad Babar besides others attended the meeting.
The participants discussed the draft law of the Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences besides the technical, administrative and basic infrastructure of the medical teaching institute and its affiliated teaching hospitals.
Different recommendations were also taken for consideration in the lengthy session of the Secretary Health and other concerned high ups with the senior doctors.
The Secretary Health, Noorul Haq Baloch and Principal BMC, Professor Shabbir Ahmed Lehri appreciated the input of the participants.
They said that the recommendations of the participants would help improve the draft law regarding establishment of the Medical and Health Sciences University in the province.
With establishment of the University, the quality of medical education would improve further, they believed adding that it would also help provide better healthcare facilities to the people.
