QUETTA: The former Deputy Chairman Senate and former Speaker Balochistan Assembly, Mir Abdul Jabbar Khan died after a protracted illness in Karachi on Thursday.
He would be laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard of Sibi after the Jumma prayer today (Friday).
According to his son, Mir Zubair Mehmood, his father was not feeling well for some time. He had also been admitted in a private hospital of Karachi some time back. However, he was discharged from there, later. He breathed his last at home on Thursday afternoon, Mir Zubair Mehmood said.
Mir Abdul Jabbar’s last remains would be brought from Karachi to Quetta and then Sibi where he would be laid to rest today.
He was a thorough gentleman, who served the country and Balochistan province in different capacities mainly as a police officer and then a politician.
He was elected as Member of Provincial Assembly from Sibi area.
Late Mir Abdul Jabbar also served as the Governor Balochistan for a short time in 1997.
