DG QDA vows to launch new public housing schemes in Quetta

QUETTA: Director General Quetta Development Authority (QDA), Noor Ahmed Pirkani has stated that the housing schemes are being introduced in the public sector owing to the emerging residential issues in Quetta city.
Talking to the media persons here the other day, the DG said that the QDA has introduced several housing schemes since in the city its establishment, and hundreds of thousands people have benefitted from the same.
The Zarghoon Housing Scheme, which was introduced few years ago, is located around nine kilometers away from the GPO chowk adjacent to Nawan Killi and Quetta cantonment.
All the necessary facilities have been provided in the housing scheme launched by the QDA, he maintained.
The facilities of gas and electricity would also be made available within few months, he announced.
The DG on the occasion also briefed the media persons about the area of the housing scheme besides different categories of plots there.
While majority of the plots in the scheme are residential, a total of 141 commercial plots have also been allotted there, he mentioned.
In addition to that, space has also been allocated for construction of three playgrounds, a hospital, community center, two mosques, a school and college in the vicinity of housing scheme, he informed.
We have planned to plant around 10,000 saplings in the area while 2,500 saplings have already been planted there, he maintained.
He said that installation of the gas and electricity would be completed in July-July next while after the slag season, the allottees may also start work on their plots.
