QUETTA: The coordination committee comprising representatives of different departments met with the Deputy Mayor of Quetta Metropolitan Corporation (QMC), Muhammad Younas Baloch in the chair here the other day.
The matters pertaining to traffic, encroachments, presence of showrooms in the main city and the issues of cleanliness were reviewed in the meeting.
A report on implementation on the laws was also presented in the meeting to discuss. The future course of action was also considered to bring improvement in the state of city affairs.
Addressing the meeting, Deputy Mayor pointed out that the paid parking has been withdrawn from the city and as such it is an illegal to charge payment from the parking along the city roads.
He directed to the concerned authorities to take action against the motorcycle stands and parking established illegally in the city areas.
The people involved in the illegal parking should be charged fine, he directed further.
The Deputy Mayor stressed that the teams of Chiltan and Zarghoon towns comprising doctors, magistrates and the administrative authorities should work jointly. He also directed to ensure implementation on the building code and anti-encroachment drive.
He stressed that all the concerned departments should cooperate with each other against violation of the building code.
It was decided to take an immediate action against the butchers who are not following the principles of hygiene at their outlets. Particularly, stern action would be taken against the butchers displaying the meat in open and that on the airport road, it was decided further.
Moreover, the participants of the meeting were unanimous to remove the show rooms of the vehicles on the Adalat road and other places in the city.
Younas Baloch urged the concerned teams to ensure implementation on the rules and regulations maintaining sanctity of the chadar and char deewari at all cost.
He announced that the sasta bazaars would be set up soon in Satellite Town, Railway Ground, Samungli road and other venues.
Those who were in attendance included: Assistant Commissioner Quetta city, Chief Officer, Attaullah Baloch, Superintendent of Police Traffic city, Chairperson Food Health, Ms. Farzana Baloch, Incharge, Encroachment Cell, Muhammar Umar Achakzai, concerned doctors, Inspector Traffic Police and building Inspectors.
In the end, it was directed to all the teams to take effective and result oriented action against encroachments in order to make the city beautiful.
