(HQ): Central Amir Jamiat Ulema e Islam Maulana Fazlur Rehman is due to arrive here on Feb 25 on a 2-day visit.
Durign his stay Maulana will address a Press conference in connection with merge of JUI-F and JUI-N.
It is added here that during 2008 elections disputes arose between JUI provincial leadership and Maulana Asmatullah group and a new party was created in the name of JUI Nazriati. This new party won a NA and another provincial assembly seat during 2008 elections. It was also successful during local bodies election.
Later a proposal of merger between two factions emerged and a committee comprising three members from either side was constituted. This committee held over a dozen meetings and decided on merger.
