Training camp for young hockey players in progress

QUETTA: A training camp for the young hockey players is in progress at the General Musa Hockey Ground here.
According to the General Secretary of BHA, over 40 young players are attending the training camp in Quetta.
The senior coaches and trainers including Kamran Sabir, Mazhar Ali, Muhammad Saleem, Khurram and Muhammad are coaching the young talent.
As many as 18 players would be picked from the camp for onward representation of the province in the National Junior (U-21) Hockey Championship being organized from March 2-12, 2016 at the National Hockey Stadium Lahore.
Amjad Satti said that it would be our earnest desire to select a talented team of the province, which may earn laurels at the national level showing good performance in the National Junior Hockey Gala.
He also mentioned that basically the Lahore junior hockey competition would also serve as preparation for the forthcoming World Junior Hockey Tournament.
The players would be shortlisted from the National Junior Hockey Championship for the World Junior Hockey Tournament, he added.
Therefore, it is equally important event for our players to show their performance and prove their mettle in the Lahore event to make their way into the national squad to be selected for the World Junior, he stressed.
