Tension eases along Pak-Afghan border

CHAMAN May 9 (PPI): Tension along Pakistan Afghan border has eased to some extent after five days. Sick Afghan people have been allowed to cross border into Afghanistan on humanitarian basis. Dead body of an Afghan died in a hospital was also sent to Afghanistan.
Security officials said that sick Afghan citizens have been allowed to go to Afghanistan on humanitarian grounds. Such Afghans who are sick can go to Afghanistan by showing their documents and go to their country.
FIA Immigration said that dead body of an Afghan patient died in a local hospital has also been sent to Afghanistan. He had gone to Quetta on Passport for treatment. Sources said that 14 Afghan people suffering from diseases have also been allowed to go to Afghanistan on showing their passports. They had arrived Pakistan for treatment on Passport Visa.
After contacts between high officials of Pakistan and Afghanistan tension in border areas of Chaman has eased. But contingents of Pakistan Army and FC are there to meet any eventuality. Educational institutions have opened. These schools were closed in view of tension in the area but attendance of girl and boy students was very small. Ten border villages are such where educiaotnal institutions remain closed. People from these villages have been shifted to tented village and safer places.
Process of Census has also resumed in civic areas after three days while it remained suspended in affected villages.
All activities along Bab e Dosti (friendship Gate) are suspended and Visa section is closed. Trade and commercial activities and on foot movement is also suspended on fifth day.
