GWADAR Nov 22 (PPI): CPEC Project has not only brought good news for Gwadar and Balochistan but for all provinces of Pakistan good news of progress and prosperity. We are ready to face all difficulties in the way of this project and are nourishing this sapling with our blood. China Pakistan Economic Corridor project occupies key importance in building our future. It is part of China’s mega One Belt one Road project which speaks of intentional vision of Chinese leadership.
These views were expressed by Balochistan chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri while addressing foundation stone laying ceremony of East Bay Expressway and during meetings of various delegations with prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi here Wednesday.
Balochistan governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai, Federal and provincial ministers, Members of Senate and assembly. Commander southern Command Lt General Asim Saleme Bajwa, civil and military officers, notables, senior Chinese officials and people were also present.
Zehri said Rupees 15 billion project would connect Gwadar Port with Coastal highway. Nineteen Km long expressway would have access of all sorts of traffic to Gwadar port. He said CPEC projects completion would Gwadar become a modern port city industrially and commercially. He said Gwadar occupies focal position in CPEC project. Owing to its deep water Port it has unique position among all the ports in the region. Economic Corridor’s initial projects have been entered into important phase. Pakistan and China’s this long term project would highlight two way economic cooperation a new dimension and social contacts would also get expansion and new heights.
He said CPEC should also not be taken as thoroughfare but there is need to link basic infrastructure with this Corridor along with establishment of economic zones and special economic zones. He said 70 percent population of Balochistan lives in rural areas whose living is linked with agriculture and livestock and with the development of these tow sectors people of Balochistan can get better employment.
Referring to special interest and practical measures of former prime Minister Nawaz Sharif he said he carried out several visits to Gwadar and process of development in Gwadar got speed and he was thankful to him. He said he was proud to say that people of Balochistan are patriotic, brave and courageous who are not afraid of terrorists activities.
