Quetta: Doctor abducted; 2 miscreants arrested

QUETTA Sept 18 (Online): Cardiologist Dr. Munaf Tareen has been abducted in the city; meanwhile, two assailants who attacked a police official at a picket, were arrested on Wednesday.
Dr. Munaf Tareen was kidnapped while he was en route back to his residence from his private hospital at Pishin Stop. The abductors, opening aerial gunfire, took him away on board his white vehicle.
DIG Operations Syed Mubeen Ahmed said pickets were erected at the city’s exits and entrances following the abduction; some miscreants opened fire at the vehicle of SP Bashir Barohi on Sariab Road, injuring a policeman.
Police returned the attack wounding two miscreants. All the injured have been shifted to Bolan Medical Complex.
Police registered the case against the two incidents and started investigations.
