Dengue virus detected in Gwadar

QUETTA, Nov 18 (APP): Dengue virus has been detected in port city of
Gwadar, Provincial Health Minister, Mir Rehmat Saleh Baloch has directed
to immediate dispatch doctors' team to Gwadar and carryout anti-dengue
virus fumigation in the town and adjoining areas.
He urged officials of the Health Department to launch campaign to
raise awareness among people about disease caused by dengue virus.
He was presiding over a meeting at Director General Health Office here
which was attended by officials from MNCH, EPI, Malaria Control Programme, Nutrition Cell, TB Control Programme and HIV Aids Control Programme. DG Health, Dr Masood Nosherwani, Dr Samee Baloch and Dr Chakar Baloch were
also present.
The Minister directed officials to submit their health plans and
implement them in letter and spirit to raise awareness among people
about deadly diseases, especially dengue virus, malaria, TV and others. "People should be convinced to adopt preventive measures to save them
from fatal diseases," he said.
He also urged authorities concerned to ensure cleanliness in their
respective areas to save local people from dengue virus and malaria.
